Beside sensing the sound inside the car, our system also sense the temperature. Because high temperature is very dangerous for baby/child locked in the car, temperature information is crucial in our system. On the one hand, informing users with car temperature can raise their vigilance. On the other hand, temperature information can be used for fan controlling.
Temperature sensor is set on the Intel Edison board, and temperature inside the car is measured every few seconds. Temperature message will be sent together with sound detection result to AWS EC2 server.
When the user of this system gets an alert message, he/she can press the “open fan” button in the APP. Then server would receive this “open fan” message and then forward this message to Intel Edison. At this time, fan connected to Intel Edison will open, and the wind velocity is related to the temperature inside the car. If the temperature is above 20 Celsius degrees, fan will receive a continued high electrical level (3.5v), and it will give a strong wind. If the temperature is below 20 degrees, fan will receive a discontinued high electrical level and will give a weak wind. The fan will open for some time and then close.
